A frost hardy small tree it is a small tree 2 – 6m tall, bearing small red or crimson fruit. Its flowers multi-stamen flowers develop into red fruit with excellent tangy, sweet fruit. Guava fruit are highly variable. This form has rounded burgundy red-brown fruit when ripe. Fruit generally ripen in late summer but in sub/tropical climates may crop twice per year. This type is a very heavy cropping tree.
It is best suited to fertile free draining soils in warm sunny sites. Enrich soil with well-rotted compost and manure in thick mulch. Choose a site protected from strong wind. Prune to encourage woody stems close to the main framework which will bear fruit.
